The  Norse and Anglo-Saxon English: Differing points of view on Death

Death is viewed in many ways. Across the planet different cultures had their own rituals. That difference spread beyond the social envelope and affected the peoples' very views on life. The Norse and the English were no different. Their clash in the late 7th to 11th century highlighted this difference.
Explore the contrasting views on death between the Norse and the English during the Viking Age. Lasting roughly from the 790's AD to roughly 1050 AD join me on a journey to understand the rituals, beliefs, and ideologies surrounding death in these ancient cultures. Through the resources I have learned from, through sites such as JSTOR, to course material see how these differing views shaped the societies and individuals of that time.
